Ubisoft postponed the Closed Beta Test a day before it was said to kick off. Ghost Recon Frontline doesn't yet have a release date but will be available on PC, exclusively through Ubisoft Connect, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, Google Stadia, and Amazon Luna. In addition, the original Ghost Recon game is free to claim on Ubisoft Connect, while Wildlands' Fallen Ghost DLC and Breakpoint's Deep State Adventure DLC are both free to access across all platforms, as long as you own the base games. You can register on the publisher's website for a chance to get in. Ghost Recon Frontline's first closed test kicks off later this month, on October 14, and will be available for PC players in Europe. Ubisoft has delayed the closed test for its recently announced battle royale game Ghost Recon Frontline seemingly without explanation. Once you've collected all the intel you need, you can call in extraction, but the process takes a while to complete and also alerts the other players to your location. The mode supports more than 100 players which you'll be competing against as you fight to gather intel. The beta won’t be available in Australia, nor will it be on consoles, although Ubi said it would include more countries in future beta waves.Ghost Recon Frontline's flagship mode is called Expedition and aims to offer "a new take on the battle royale genre." Matches take place on the expansive open world of Drakemoor island, tasking players with completing dynamic objectives instead of evading an ever-encroaching circle of death. Earlier this year the company announced XDefiant, another first-person shooter in the Tom Clancy universe which will also be partly developed by new hires out of Ubi’s Sydney office. Ghost Recon Frontline isn’t the only first-person shooter out of Ubi, though. The Bucharest studio was founded in 1992 and was Ubisoft’s first studio outside of France, with the original mission of porting Ubisoft titles over to PC. These days, Ubisoft Bucharest has mostly co-developed Assassin’s Creed, Just Dance and Tom Clancy games in conjunction with other Ubisoft studios. Today, Ubisoft announced the closed beta has been postponded in order for the team behind it to deliver. The Ghost Recon battle royale is being made by Ubisoft Bucharest, a studio which advertises itself as the second biggest studio in the publisher’s stable. Ghost Recon Frontline has already seen a delay of sorts, and it's not even out yet. ![]()
